Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is “Net Metering” and how do I apply for my utility’s program?

Net Metering is just like rollover minutes on your monthly phone plan. In this case, utilities credit your unused energy onto your monthly power bill. Any energy that is not used by your home is stored on the utility grid and used at a later date (rainy/cloudy days). Right now, most utilities offer a fair 1 for 1 credit system. Find out if your utility offers this.

2. How would I pay for my solar system?

Think of purchasing a solar system like you would financing a reliable car. Only, this “car” gets federal & state tax credits of up to half cost…
Oh, and this “car” is also producing your daily power needs, paying for itself over time. Say goodbye to that monthly power bill, too.
Now find me a car like this and I'll take it!

Monthly payments vary based on loan/energy options and start at $49/mo. Curious to know what yours will cost? Click here to find out.

3. I plan on moving soon. What happens then?

When moving, there are three flexible solar options:
1. Take your solar system with you, and we’ll install on your next home.
2. Next homeowner can include the solar system in their new mortgage - no more solar loan!
3. Next homeowner assumes payments where you left off.

4. Will solar systems work during the winter time?

Over the course of an entire year, there will be summer months when your solar system generates more solar energy than your home uses. You can use the extra power generated during these months to offset your electric bill costs during the months when your solar panel system generates less energy than you use. The goal here: design a system for your home that offsets your energy usage over the entire year.

5. How does a battery backup tie into my solar system?
